Approach

What Sets Us Apart

We've been inside the room.

Our perspective comes from working inside global organizations, not just advising them. We know how employment decisions are actually made — under real business pressure, between headquarters policy and Korean law.

We reconstruct facts, not just arguments.

Most employment disputes turn on facts, not doctrine. We bring investigative discipline to every matter — reconstructing timelines and building factual records that hold under adversarial scrutiny.

We bridge global policy and Korean law.

Employment decisions rarely follow Korean law alone. We help leadership teams close the gap between Korean legal requirements, regional HR policy, and headquarters expectations.

Effective legal advice must also work as business advice.

We frame legal risk in business terms — what happens next, and what it costs — so leadership can make real decisions, not just read legal opinions.

The right expertise, when it matters.

K Labor Law advises businesses and individuals across the full spectrum of Korean employment law, combining legal expertise with practical experience in global HR, labor relations, and workplace investigations. Every matter is led by a Certified Public Labor Attorney (CPLA), with trusted specialists brought in whenever broader expertise is required.

From the inside out.

Before founding K Labor Law, MK Lee helped establish Korean employment compliance for Deel Korea, supporting multinational companies as they expanded into Korea and bridging global HR policy with local employment law. Earlier, she co-founded MScan, a patented consumer analytics startup — experience that continues to shape a practical approach balancing legal requirements with real-world business needs.

More than one lens.

MK Lee spent five years as an investigative journalist at KBS, developing a disciplined approach to reconstructing facts and communicating complex issues with clarity. She went on to advise multinational companies on Korean employment compliance, and today also works in labor relations — participating in industry-wide social dialogue and collective bargaining. Rather than following a traditional legal career path, she brings together journalism, global HR, business leadership, and labor law, allowing K Labor Law to approach workplace issues from multiple perspectives, not doctrine alone.
